2013 Rocket Boys Aiming High Essay Contest

 Middle School Students in All West Virginia Counties and throughout the World

 ESSAY BASED ON THE FOLLOWING QUESTION 

The essay question for 2013 will be:

During their time in Coalwood, the Rocket Boys’ found inspiration in many people, places and things, in 250 words or less, what inspires you and  what are you doing with that inspiration?

         Open to all Middle School Age Students

    Including Public, Private, and Home Schooled Students

    All Essays should be limited to 250 words or less

    Essay can be submitted online or by emailing entry  to williamscotthill@rocketmail.com

   Essays can be mailed to Rocket Boys Festival, PO Box 1091,

 Beckley, WV 25802-1091

        Eight (8) Finalists from all entries will be asked to read their essay at Tamarack on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 5:00 PM  as part of the RBF in Beckley

    Deadline for submission of Essay is Saturday, September 14, 2013.

(Mailed Essays received after that date will be accepted only if they have a postmark on or before September 14, 2013)

Awards will be presented to finalists on October 3, 2013 at Tamarack by Homer Hickam.

   All decisions of the Judges are final

  Four (4) High School Teachers will serve as Judges, each choosing two (2) finalists

  Please submit the Essay with the following information by the deadline of 9/14/13

   Awards will include Certificates to all finalists, trophies to top three and a $500.00 Scholarship to overall champion of the
